Block Constructed - ideas?

So we have 2 weeks of GPs from which to draw inspiration from. Ideas, thoughts on the format? Between mono red and Quick 'n Toast, is the twilight of the Fae upon us?

This is Toby, the English guy who played for a few weeks last summer over here. Back in town again so will probably see you around soon.

As far as what I saw at GP Birmingham spectral procession WW was very strong as well as the obvious Faeries, but my personal fav deck was Quick and Toast (I piloted the "10 commandment" version to top 84 out of around 600). I haven't played since the release of eventide so not sure how much that has effected things but I doubt it has stopped spectral procession+mirrorweave into 26 flying damage...
If you are looking for consistent, if a little boring, I would opt for either WW or Fae. I generally never go with the most popular deck option so elementals (with horde of notions) or Q 'n T are funner choices.; ▶ Reply to This

Mono red = probably the wins.

In the past, when fast red did well....Big red came and took over. I can totally see a similar pattern happening here. If it's not red, then it's some kind of mono colored agro-controlled deck I'm sure...

Maybe some Stupid Green decks? That'd be kind of awesome.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Keoni on August 20, 2008 at 1:04am: I would like to point out that the only reason the Fae aren't making as many top 8's and stuff is because RDW has a really good matchup against them. The problem is that RDW truly is an awful deck, as it literally has bad matchups against the rest of the field. From 5-color-control to kithkin, RDW will always be down. Cards like runed halo, burrenton forge tender, and kitchen finks own that deck single handedly. It's probably the worst choice to pick if you want to win a PTQ. They should change the name to RDDW (Red Deck Doesn't Win). Also, Paulo Vitor has placed 9th in a bunch of tournaments (including Grand Prix) with the Fae, losing out on tiebreakers.
