Da-Planet, the place for Trading Card Games

Unless you've been semi-living under a rock for the past few months (and you should be ashamed of yourself for not knowing about this), Capcom will be releasing the next installment of the Mega Man (Rockman in Japan), aptly named Mega Man 9. But wait, what's this?

AN 8-BIT GAME? NO WAI!

Yes, Capcom has gone sent Mega Man back to it's roots. Furthermore:
"Capcom's going out of its way to make sure its deliciously stale Mega Man 9 offers a true 8-bit experience, bugs and all. The company's Hironobu Takeshita recently told Gamasutra that the download will have the look and feel of a NES-era release, and that things such as sprite flicker have even been included as a -- thankfully optional -- feature.

"Yeah, there were some things, like you couldn't have more than three enemies on the screen at once, so we had to make sure that that's how it stayed in our game. In the part with the dragon with the flame, [there should be] flickering, and whatnot," noted the game's producer. "In the options of this game, you can adjust that, unlike the old games. We purposely put some of those old-school bugs into this game, so it does recreate that feel." Now, if only Capcom could emulate blowing into the cartridge we'd be in retro heaven."

Here are your bosses:

Yes, there is a female robot master this time around.

For you later adopters in the series, this game will have NO SLIDING, AND NO CHARGED UP MEGA-BUSTER. Time to take it truly old-school style!

Now on to release dates and pricing (for North America)!

Wii - September 22 - 1000 Wii Points
PS3 -September 25 - $9.99
XBox 360 - October 1 - 800 MS Points

Finally, for you XBox 360 owners, the list of some of the achievements for this game (If the PS3 version supports trophies, I assume they will be the same):
Jitterbug -- Clear the game in 60 minutes or less (20 Achievement points)
Invincible -- Clear the game without dying (30 points)
Almost Invincible -- Clear the game without continuing (20 points)
No Coffee Break -- Clear the game without using any Energy or Mystery Tanks (10 points)
Peacekeeper -- Clear the game by defeating the fewest number of enemies possible (20 points)
Conservationist -- Clear the game by using the least amount of Weapon Energy possible (20 points)
Gamer's Day -- Clear the game five times in one day (20 points)
Whomp Wily! -- Clear the game once (5 points)

World Warrior -- Defeat every type of enemy (5 points)

Honestly? I can't wait.
