When you account that those in the group picture and a few more won a pack or more, it shows how deep the prize pool is.
So yes, you're missing that point.
We award much deeper down the standings for players along with random prizes to encourage players to keep on playing while still having a bigger prize pool overall.
plus it was a $3 dollar tournament. you can't expect a bigger prize pool.
