Da-Planet, the place for Trading Card Games

Ok, so i was playing a friend, and i had a face down morphing jar. He attacked with a submarine frog and there is where i get confuzzled... he had 4 cards in his deck, and i had 700 life points (he had wetlands out) so i dont know whether or not he won, i won or it was a tie... so really, whats faster an attack or a flip effect??

There are detailed charts (explanations) on how the battle phase (more specifically, the damage step where your area of interest is inquiring about) flows. Read through them and you'll find your answer as to which comes first.

your opponent doesnt need to be in their draw phase to deck-out, because Morphing Jar says specifically to draw 5 Cards," so if their deck only has 4 cards when activated, they effectively deck-out.

However, according to yugioh.wikia, damage calculation is carried out first and the monster is destroyed before any flip effect can activate, so you would take the damage before the monster's effect resolves.

So I think you lost =P

thanks for all the halp... this will be good to know in future duels... DUEL PLAY OF THE DAY!!!

i had 4 cards left in my deck, my opponent had 3... i set a needle worm ready for the deck out win....he activated creature swap and gave me a useless monster... He cannot switch the monsters battle position for that turn and i was sure i was going to lose next turn. I draw, and activate stumbling for no reason that i know of... One kid on the side said "dude, he can only win if he has a nobleman of crossout" i no wat your thinking, i drew nobleman... wrong. I drew a card named dream clown... when switched from attack to defense i can destroy one monster on the field... I thought for a moment and realized that i could get rid of his (my) needle worm... I smiled and summoned the monster, and because of stumbling it was switched to defense which allowed me to save myself and destroy the needle worm... In a matter of a few turns he decked out by not being able to draw at his draw phase and i had 1 card left in my deck..... It was exhilirating!!!

next time try to look it up or read the rule book before asking these kinds of questions. even though someone knows the answer its better to find out on your own. plus when you do find the answer by yourself you feel smarter lol
