drafts? drafts!

hi kids. its that time of year again, limited PTQ time. wee! so, seeing as how the sets not live on modo before the big day, i want to propose some casual drafting. so maybe after next weekend (ie. the release) we can NOT crack packs and save em for draftos. i know this concept os hard for some people, but trust me, this is way better.

Permalink Reply by James on September 28, 2009 at 1:28pm: hey analynn a bunch of us used to draft about once a week sometimes 2 or 3 times for awhile now. its slowed down a lot recently as no one really liked m10 drafting that much but we have a regular group we can get back together for weekly drafts if ur interested. we normally get 8 but sometimes 6-10 depending on peoples availability, everyone just brings their own packs or coordinates for someone to grab em packs and prize pool is one pack each.

the people who draft normally play at a fairly high level, some more so than others (dru), and its pretty competitive but still casual and fun.

lemme know and hopefully we can start having weekly drafts again

The only way to get better at drafting is to consistently draft with people who are better than yourself. When I first decided I wanted to be good at magic I was drafting at least twice a week, usually more, in casual drafts with friends or who ever I could find. These days people are reluctant to draft with people who are "better" than them, which is the main reason why no one casual drafts on this island anymore, but that's the only way to get better.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by James on September 28, 2009 at 3:48pm: one thing would be finding a place to draft. i have a large lounge room perfect to draft in at my condo with plenty of covered garage parking, many of you have already been there to draft once or twice in those few weeks before pt honolulu. but the problem is that since its a common room available to anyone within the building i can only use it when no one else will be using it, so its not always guaranteed it'll be available. the times were pretty flexible, we normally did it 6 o clock on thursdays pretty regularly but one problem was getting a confirmed amount or people. if your interested in attending a draft we'd have to get a set time and have people be sure they can make it and be there on time. nothings worse than 7 people waiting for one guy who "might be able to make it".; ▶ Reply to This

p.s. wizards got me. the possibility of "priceless treasures" made me bust my boosters. yes i know..... so sad. anyway... lmk if you get the sunday draft squad together again.; ▶ Reply to This

dru, team draft and then you can draft and make money! unless you're not on my team =P
speaking of which, basa challenged me to a money draft. need 2 people to battle him with me. keoni, you in? you gotta help me keep my undefeated money draft record alive like you did the other time lol.; ▶ Reply to This
