Pokemon Tournaments

As you probably already know, I'm trying to get events back up in Hawaii, and we have some players interested in events. I've recently been in contact with the people at Pokemon Organized Play (POP), and they gave me some information and assistance, but now its pretty much up to the players to decide whether the game grows or stays at the league level in this state.

If we want larger premier-level events, we need to start with the smaller tournaments and have a consistent attendance. We've had a pretty good Sunday attendance, but that's because its league and open for entry during the whole event. A tournament would conflict with other event, and probably hurt in attendance.

To have a sanctioned tournament, a minimum of 8 players must participate. I cannot schedule a sanctioned tournament during the league. That pretty much leaves Wednesday and possibly Saturday as potential tournament days for Pokemon tournaments, or just shortening/rescheduling league on Sundays and adding a tournament that doesn't cross over with the league.
