Hiya, folks! I'm here in my hotel room right now, kicking back after the long weekend of WoW Worlds, and I figured there were definitely a few news worthy items I should write about. First of all, I ran into several familiar faces while out here. DaneJ was down here as expected, and not only did he have a
feature match against eventual world champion Billy Postlethwait, but he also was on hand on day three to do some
reporting himself. One of the coolest new additions to this year's Worlds coverage, though, was a live video feed of of the feature match tables complete with play by play commentary, and DaneJ joined WoW TCG Lead Developer Pat Sullivan in the booth to cover the final championship match for the TCG portion of Worlds. It was pretty awesome, to say the least.
Little Seanzie was also in attendance, and he actually scored a
feature match of his own in the Darkmoon Faire event during his run for the top 8. Now that the event is over, I THINK Seanzie is planning on staying for a week until Pro Tour: Austin rolls around, and DaneJ might be as well, but I don't know for sure.
I also ran into Tracy Reeves while I was here, who used to be an avid WoW player back in Hawaii before he moved. He was actually here this weekend as part of the judge staff for Worlds, which I thought was super cool. I think he's thinking of volunteering for DMF Las Vegas, and I'm hoping we'll see him moving on up in the judge community.
One of the coolest things for me at Worlds, though, was the
Legendary Draft. This was a very special event, in which special packs were put together by the members of R&D for a truly incredible draft experience. I was lucky enough to be a part of the pack-creation process, and seeing the fruits of our labor come alive today was extremely rewarding. The card I was most proud of getting approved for the draft? Hellfire. Heh.
All in all, it was a pretty cool weekend for all of us I'd say. Grats to the boys from back home, and good luck to them if they are playing in PT: Austin.
