PTQ 2010 San Diego

36 players showed up for the last PTQ for 2009.

Todd Ozawa flew down from Hilo to be the Head Judge and to train new judges as the judge pool on Oahu for Magic has gone down to zero.

The players are just finishing up the Deck Registration. About 1/3 of them went over time.

[motsuji]

The field is composed of many veterans. Noticabley absent are Byron Juarez (who is training today since he didn't like his chances) and Mike Wun. Alex Ahia and Tim Lui flew down from Hilo. Many people feel that James Kuwata is one of the front runners.

There is 20 minutes left in deck construction and Analynn and Tim just showed up. They are racing to build their decks. The tournament now has 38 players making for 6 rounds of Swiss.

It's nice to see the kids growing up. I remember hoping to play against players of James' caliber every round, but now it sounds like he has stepped his game up. Good luck to everyone.
